The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (DNR) along with North Central Illinois Council of Governments (NCICG) will hold a public information meeting regarding the State of Illinois's grant application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the National Disaster Resiliency Competition.
During the public meeting, residents, local officials, and small business owners will have the opportunity to learn more about this process. "This is a proactive effort to work with the State to bring funds into the area to support infrastructure projects, environmental projects and housing buy-out or improvement projects.
In order to better prepare local communities for future extreme weather events, the Illinois Valley Flood Resiliency Alliance is working to implement a resiliency plan for the region.
Please attend to share ideas and concerns about the sustainability of your home, business, and community.
