Worms aren't just for fishing anymore. They can be used in composting in your house.
This Vermicomposting program is open to youth and adults. The class will be a hands on experience in how worms can be used to decompose normal household garbage. This knowledge will not only give you compost for your lawn or garden, but also limit the amount of garbage you send to the landfill. The worm composting has no odor so it is easy to do indoors.
The cost for the program is $3 to attend, $5 also includes a small bin of worms, $10 will include large bin of worms.
You can register via the website https://web.extension.illinois.edu/registration/?RegistrationID=13922 or by calling the Grundy County Extension Office at 815-942-2725 and talking to Nancy Kuhajda. If you need reasonable accommodations to participate in this program you can contact her.
