The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will host this free webinar, where The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) and the Illinois State Treasurer's Office (ISTO) will team up to provide information and offer solutions to small business owners about current IL State Laws regarding retirement plans for employees.
Illinois state law now requires that certain private-sector employers offer or contribute to a qualified retirement plan or facilitate employee enrollment in the Illinois Secure Choice retirement savings program. In this session, the ISTO and DOL will cover the specifics of the state law and provide an overview of how Illinois Secure Choice works and how easy it is for businesses to facilitate. They will also cover various retirement plan options that employers can provide to their employees.
SBA will provide a brief overview of the resources it provides to small business owners.

Deadline Approaching to Apply for Physical Disaster Loans in Illinois - Due September 13, 2024
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is reminding businesses, is reminding businesses, private nonprofit organizations, homeowners and renters in Illinois affected by the Orion Parkview Apartment Fire on June 17, to apply for physical damage disaster loans by the Sept. 13 deadline. The declaration covers Cook County and the adjacent counties of DuPage, Kane, McHenry and Will in Illinois and Lake in Indiana.
Applicants may apply online and receive additional disaster assistance information at SBA.gov/disaster. Applicants may also call SBA’s Customer Service Center at (800) 659-2955 or email disastercustomerservice@sba.gov for more information on SBA disaster assistance. For people who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have a speech disability, please dial 7-1-1 to access telecommunications relay services.
The filing deadline to return applications for physical property damage is Sept. 13, 2024. The deadline to return economic injury loan applications is April 15, 2025.
