This workshop (speaker is Dr. Laurie Benton, Chicago School of Professional Psychology) provides an introduction to complex trauma and the impact on developing adolescents. The particular focus will be to facilitate an understanding of how adverse childhood experiences contribute to delinquency. The workshop will aim to provide skills to more effectively engage youth with severe social and emotional problems and combines lecture, discuss, video, and experimental activities to provide a lively and engaging format. Law Enforcement, Schools, Social Workers, Probation Officers, Detention Officers, Attorneys, Government Officials and the Community are those who should attend.
Registration deadline is April 28, 2014 for $25 per person and after April 28 the cost per person is $35.
This seminar is from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm with a continental breakfast, lunch and beverages that are included.
