Northern Illinois Small Grains Program
invited to attend the 2013 Northern Illinois Small Grains Program at
the University of Illinois Northern Illinois Agronomy Research Center in
Shabbona, IL. Sponsored by the Illinois Wheat Association and U & I
Extension, the small grains program will feature several presentations from
extension & university agronomists, breeders, and plant pathologists.
Speakers include Fred Kolb, professor and small grains breeder who will
discuss oat and wheat variety development for northern Illinois. Emerson
Nafziger, professor and extension agronomist will discuss the 2013 Illinois
wheat crop and management practices, including a look at the commercial
variety trial. Finally, Carl Bradley, associate professor of plant pathology and
U and I Extension plant pathologist will talk to the group about wheat
disease management.
Participants are asked to register in advance by contacting the Wheat
Association office at 309-557-3619 or by e-mailing Charlene Blary at
cblary@ilfb.org. Registration is $10 per person and includes dinner.
