The Illinois Department of Transportation is hosting a public meeting to present information regarding the Illinois High-Speed Rail Chicago to St. Louis Program. At this meeting, the study team will be available to discuss information the Kankakee River Bridge and Track Improvements Supplemental Environmental Assessment (EA) and Program activities. The environmental documentation includes an evaluation of the construction of a second track along the mainline service of the Union Pacific Railroad from north of E. Kankakee River Drive to south of North 1st Street and reconstruction of the Kankakee River Bridge rail crossing in the city of Wilmington, Will County, Illinois.
The meeting will be conducted in an open house format, and interested persons may visit any time between 4 pm and 7 pm. Attendees will have the opportunity to review exhibits and to meet with IDOT and study team representatives. A brief presentation will be given at 5:30 pm.
