Volunteers will give a one hour presentation of the Habitat for Humanity program and application process. Attendance at the meeting is required to obtain an application.
To be chosen for a home, families must meet a minimum of three criteria: 1) Need for a permanent home, such as living with a family member or renting a crowded or unsafe apartment; 2) Ability to pay a no-interest mortgage, earning 30-60% of the median income for Grundy County; and 3) Willingness to partner in the construction of their home by contributing 400 hours of "sweat equity" to Habitat.
