This series is called "Abraham Lincoln's Doctor's Dog". The Civil War was our nation's greatest tragedy, but it was not lacking some humorous moments. This is a random and irreverent look at some of the bizarre, ludicrous and outrageous events that took place during those turbulent years. These include bill goat races in the white house, exotic pets on the battlefield, and unusual weapons and tactics.
The speaker is Robert I. Girardi who lives and works in Chicago where he is employed as a homicide detective by the Chicago PD. Robert is an author and historian and has written numerous essays and book reviews and has authored or edited ten books.
Menu: Choice of Ham, Au Gratin Potato, and Seasonal Vegetables or Angel Hair Pasta tossed with tomatoes, garlic and onion and a Riley's seasoned chicken breast. Both entrees include Creamy Potato and Leek Soup, French Bread and Brownie a la Mode.
