Coal City Business Climate
Matt Fritz, Coal City Village Administrator
In 2011, the Coal City Board of Trustees completed 18 months of visits with any of its businesses who wished to take part in a business retention visit. The results have been the catalyst for a new façade improvement program as well as expediting the goal of improving Broadway within the Core Business Area of the Village. Other impressions were provided including the desire to be building an alliance amongst the businesses to assist in cross-promoting the utilization of each other’s businesses.
The Village has been investing in economic development tools that can help current businesses with product identification as well as strive to get other franchises which will accommodate the current business mix to enhance the quality of life for coal City’s residents.
Please join us for a short presentation of our findings as well as a discussion of where to go from here now that this information has been gathered.
