Annual Spring Canal Clean-Up Along the I& Canal

The Canal Corridor Association is coordinating a canal-wide cleanup on Saturday, April 23rd, the weekend after Earth Day.  All interested volunteers should contact us at 815-223-1851.

The I&M Canal State Trail is 62 miles from Joliet to LaSalle and is a popular recreational trail utilized by hikers, bikers and joggers.  After the long winter, debris and litter have descended on the trail and banks of the canal.  We especially appreciate your church group, club, organization, or business claiming a section of the canal and tracking volunteers working on that stretch.

We are also looking for site volunteer coordinators.  They are responsible for keeping track of volunteers and hours at their site, and returning volunteer sheets to us.  If you decide this should be a worthwhile  project, please contact us for details at 815-223-1851 or imcnha@iandmcanal.org, so that we can keep track of volunteer hours and sections cleaned.
