2016 Fall Family Bereavement Five Session Workshop Series Schedule

This workshop os for ages 6 through adult.  Each adult session is presented and facilitated by a Joliet Area Community Hospice staff member on a grief-related topic.  Children and teenagers will meet separately with counselors and peers.  The cost is $40 per family for all five sessions (sliding fee scale is available).  You can come to one or all of the workshops.  The specific topics will be:

• Thursday, October 6  ~  UNDERSTANDING MOURNING will include the video "Beyond Death's Door" and introduce ways to "listen to the music of the past, to sing in the present and to dance into the future."
• Thursday, October 13  ~  JOURNEY OF GRIEF will examine various ways to understand your personal grieving experience and share your story.
• Thursday, October 20  ~  UNDERSTANDING EMOTIONS  will focus on difficult feelings related to the grieving process along with an activity to connect those feelings.
• Thursday, October 27  ~  COPING SKILLS will introduce coping strategies to deal with grief triggers.
• Thursday, November  ~  REMEMBERING will be a discussion on the importance of remembering and rituals during the holidays.
